This years MET gala theme was CAMP. Not the camp in the woods but the CAMP concept dating back to the late 1600s.
It was a period of "extraordinary feeling for artifice -for surface for symmetry". Some professional linguists argue that the word originates from “the secret language” of Polari. Polari was a language created and used by queer people in Britain in the 1960s. Polari was a blend of linguistic influences and the belief is that the word was derived either from French word camper, meaning to portray or pose or compare, the Italian word meaning “ to make something stand out”
The MET happens every year, designers and stylists work overtime to create one of a kind bespoke pieces for the celebrity guests. Here are some of the top looks from this year event.

Kim kardashian wears a waist whittling Thierry Mugler dress, titled the Wet Look. Created from silicone with a corset base layer. Inspired by a California girl, a wet t-shirt old Hollywood image of Sophia Loren. The dress took over 8 months to create, and is made from silicone.
Katy Perry wears a handmade chandelier dress by Jeremy Scott for Moschino. Her Hamburger outfit for the after party made heads turn, in a little ruched lettuce dress.
